Starting August 28, an amendment to the Parking Lot Act in South Korea targets long-term occupation of free public parking by motorhomes and caravans. The amendment expands enforcement from individual spaces to entire lots, introduces fines up to 1 million won for parking over a month without valid reason, and strengthens penalties for blocking entrances. Previously, despite bans, vehicle owners evaded rules by moving to adjacent spots, and local authorities lacked resources for effective enforcement.
