China has published national standard GB/T 47248-2026, specifying requirements for safety chains on trailers with a gross mass of up to 3.5 tons. The standard will take effect on October 1, 2026. It defines classification, technical specifications, test methods, and labeling rules for safety chains, which are critical for preventing accidental detachment of trailers from towing vehicles. The standard was drafted by Shandong Rongye RV Manufacturing Service Co., Ltd., based in Weihai, a major hub for China's RV and trailer industry.
