Measures to boost motorhome consumption
China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, together with nine other agencies, published a package of measures to stimulate consumption of motorhomes, holiday trailers and campers. The document, dated 13 September 2026, contains nine groups of measures.
Key provisions
- Scrapping the mandatory disposal period for small and micro non-commercial motorhomes.
- Extending the service life of rental motorhomes from 15 to 25 years.
- Extending the service life of holiday trailers from 15 to 20 years.
- Increasing the number of test sites for obtaining category C6 licences.
- Creating motorhome parking areas with water supply, charging and waste disposal.
- Supporting campsite construction, including on undeveloped land without hard surfacing.
- Promoting rental, financial and insurance products for motorhomes.
