China's Ministry of Commerce, together with eight other agencies, has published a notice on measures to stimulate consumption in the automotive aftermarket. The document includes 17 measures across six areas, including support for the RV and camping industry and orderly development of vehicle tuning.
Key measures
- Simplify RV registration and optimize road access rules for RVs.
- Streamline land approval for campsites and build high-quality multifunctional campsites along scenic routes and in suburbs, with services such as repair, water, electricity, medical aid, and food.
- Create dedicated parking spaces for self-propelled RVs and caravan trailers.
- Encourage production of eco-friendly, intelligent, lightweight, and elderly-friendly RV models.
- Introduce mandatory certification of parts and standards for van conversions.
Deputy Commerce Minister Sheng Qiuping presented the measures at a press conference on June 23, targeting the aftermarket, which exceeds $1 trillion in value.
