China introduces regulation for motorhomes and camper vans

Zhengzhou Nissan, a joint venture between Nissan and Dongfeng Motor Group, plans to launch the updated Nissan Evalia in the fourth quarter of 2026. The model will feature Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology and be positioned as an MPV for light off-road use, targeting the growing vanlife market in China. The powertrain includes a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 101 hp and an electric motor delivering 208 hp, powered by a 21.1 kWh LFP battery. All-wheel drive is not available, and the estimated price ranges from 79,800 to 127,800 yuan.

China's Ministry of Commerce, together with eight other agencies, has announced 40 pilot cities for reform in automobile circulation and consumption. Each city is assigned a specific focus: Beijing's Chaoyang district will concentrate on vehicle modification, Tianjin on tuning, classic cars and motorsport, and Yangzhou on RV camping. Separately, nine ministries issued 17 measures to boost the aftermarket, covering legalized car modification, RV camping support, and motorsport development.

Ford has introduced the ZhiQu LieMa, an off-road SUV with factory-installed camping equipment. The model is available in hybrid and all-electric versions. The hybrid variant offers 220 km of electric range and 1220 km combined range. The electric version features a 105.4 kWh battery and a range of 650 km. Standard equipment includes a power pop-up roof, fold-out bed, 6.6 kW external power supply, and a refrigerator.

Lanzhong has introduced the Shanhaipao pickup-based motorhome with layout A. It features a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, a 9-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive. The starting price is 558,000 yuan. Built on the Great Wall G3 chassis, it includes a 48-volt electrical system with a 12.4 kWh battery and a 720 W solar panel. The fresh water tank holds 200 liters. The manufacturer claims the model combines off-road capability with comfortable long-term living.

Chinese automaker Xpeng has started sales of its electric minivan X9 in Poland, positioning it as a rival to the Mercedes EQV. The 5.3-meter-long vehicle offers a seven-seat cabin with a 2+2+2+3 layout, a rear axle with steering, and a range of up to 615 km. Prices start from PLN 324,900 for the Standard Range Pro version with a 94.8 kWh battery and front-wheel drive.

Chinese brand Xpeng has started sales of the X9 model in Poland, a seven-seat electric van. The vehicle measures 5316 mm in length with a 3160 mm wheelbase. Three powertrain versions are available: Standard Range (94 kWh, 320 hp, FWD) from PLN 324,900, Long Range Pro (110 kWh, 320 hp, FWD) from PLN 349,900, and Performance Pro (110 kWh, 500 hp, AWD) from PLN 389,900. Claimed range reaches up to 615 km, with a maximum charging power of 542 kW.
