The Cantabrian government has approved a new decree regulating the parking and overnight stays of motorhomes and campervans on public roads. Unlike Ibiza, Palma, and Galicia, where restrictions are tightening, the region allows sleeping inside the vehicle without deploying external elements (tables, chairs, awnings) and without discharging waste. The decree removes the previous 30-space limit for service areas, simplifies the creation of new sites with water and waste disposal, and permits stays of up to 48 hours. The goal is to attract year-round tourists, boost rural economies, and reduce disorderly parking in sensitive areas.
