Japanese company JP Star unveils Happy1 Turbo camper based on Daihatsu Atrai

A couple in their 60s from Hokkaido, who experienced a massive blackout during the 2018 Iburi earthquake, used their retirement bonus to buy a camper and set off on a round-Japan trip. They note that camper life requires daily management of water, electricity, and waste, which limits freedom but adds to the experience. The couple emphasizes that the journey's value lies not in ticking off destinations but in encounters with people.

A veteran of car sleeping for nearly 20 years says the main stress is not cold or security, but the guilt of wondering if it's okay to park and sleep there. Honda has unveiled the 2027 Trail Master, a factory-built camper van with all-wheel drive and off-road equipment. Base price is $80,000–$95,000, fully loaded version $115,000–$130,000. It features a four-cylinder turbo engine, permanent AWD, a double bed, kitchen, and toilet. The vehicle is aimed at buyers who need a reliable mobile home for rough terrain.
