Caravan manufacturer LMC has notified 106 employees at its Sassenberg plant of operational redundancies. 88 of them must leave by the end of July, the remaining 18 by the end of January 2027. The workforce has shrunk from 1,200 to about 500. Management and worker representatives have agreed on a social plan including a transfer company, where employees will receive full pay for several months, followed by up to six months of transfer short-time allowance at 80% of net salary. The layoffs are due to a Europe-wide slump in demand for caravans and motorhomes.
