Winnebagoⓘ Industries announced it will move production of towable RVs to the Grand Design RV site in Middlebury, Indiana, and B-Van production from Lake Mills to Forest City, Iowa. The Middlebury and Lake Mills facilities will be closed and put up for sale.
The company emphasized that brands will remain independent and no product lines will be discontinued. Winnebago stated it expects no disruption to production or dealer relationships, and that orders and customer support will remain unchanged.
As part of the consolidation, the company notified of layoffs of 27 production employees at the special vehicles plant in Forest City, effective November 30. This is the first layoff in 2025 after several rounds of job cuts. Earlier in 2025, Winnebago had already laid off 311 workers in Iowa when closing plants in Charles City and Waverly. The company maintains production in northern Iowa, employing about 2,000 people.
