The turnover of the mobile tourism sector (motorhomes, caravans, camper vans) reached €8.5 billion. The Ministry of Tourism allocated funds to create or upgrade 4,400 parking spaces in 170 municipalities. However, Italy lacks a 'right to roam' principle, and wild camping outside designated areas is mostly prohibited.
