Jericho Mountain State Park in New Hampshire has officially opened 19 new RV campsites with electrical hookups and other amenities. The upgrade is part of a $22.6 million allocation from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, with $7.7 million dedicated to improving state campgrounds. The park was one of two selected for renovations, alongside Pawtuckaway State Park.

Back-to-back floods in the Texas Hill Country have heavily impacted RV parks and campgrounds, which are particularly vulnerable in one of the most flood-prone regions in the U.S. At least 44 of the 119 people who died in Kerr County last year were staying in RVs or rental cabins, with 39 swept away from two adjacent parks, HTR TX Hill Country and Blue Oak RV Park, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The flooding has prompted debate over whether cities and counties should further limit where RVs and cabins can be located, balancing restrictions with the appeal of riverfront living. Andrew Rumbach of the Urban Institute noted that RV parks often sit in flood zones due to scenic, cheaper land, but light, unanchored vehicles can be quickly engulfed by water, making escape impossible.
A large fire broke out Wednesday night at Robinson's Whitewater River Campground in Connersville, Indiana, amid historic flash flooding.
