According to the RV Land project, as of May 2026, Russia had about 32,200 owners of motorhomes and caravans. By July, the number of facilities accommodating such tourists reached 469, including campsites, recreation centers, and parking areas. Experts note that demand has formed, but infrastructure is developing unevenly. In 2027, the first caravan site with electricity and water hookups, sanitary modules, and service areas is planned to open at the Grand Seliger resort. The shortage of such facilities is especially noticeable near natural attractions, forcing travelers to stop in unserviced areas. Caravanning development could boost regional economies, as motorhome owners travel long routes and use local services. M9 Development is exploring placing caravanners in its tourism projects, including Lake Ladoga and Teriberka.
