In Austria and Germany demand is growing for compact caravan trailers that fit in a garage and cost about CZK 200,000 less than classic caravans. Austria recorded 8.8 million camping nights in 2025, up 3.5% year on year. More than 215,000 new leisure vehicles were registered in Europe last year, while registrations of classic caravans fell by around 11%. Compact models weigh between 270 and 370 kg, compared with over 800 kg for the smallest classic caravan. A new classic caravan costs CZK 350,000 to 400,000, while compact solutions are priced at CZK 130,000 to 210,000.
