The used motorhome market is experiencing a sharp drop in demand amid rising supply, particularly in the segment under €25,000. According to OSW, a platform for private vehicle sales, demand has declined compared to last year.
Key reasons include higher road tax and fuel prices (in several European countries above €2 per litre), making motorhome ownership less appealing. "The advantages of traveling with a motorhome currently do not outweigh the higher costs for many consumers," said Renaldo Molenbeek, co-founder of OSW. Sellers are forced to make concessions, while buyers have more room to negotiate.
In contrast to the used car sector, sales of new motorhomes in the Netherlands rose: 2,941 units were delivered in 2025 (+19% vs. 2024), and 1,297 new motorhomes were registered in the first four months of 2026 (+9% vs. the same period last year).
