Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the new Marco Polo camper van. It features a two-layer aluminium pop-up roof that increases interior headroom by 100 mm (to 370 mm), with optional LED ambient lighting and a sliding panoramic opening. The interior includes a 40-litre refrigerator with 25% improved energy efficiency, a kitchen with gas hob and sink, a 12.3-inch display, an 8-speaker audio system with subwoofer, and quick-mount magnetic curtains. The rear bench converts into a bed. Three four-cylinder diesel engines are available: 120 kW/380 N·m, 140 kW/440 N·m, and 174 kW/500 N·m, all mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission; rear- and all-wheel drive are optional. European orders open on 5 August; pricing is yet to be announced (the previous model started at €80,664 in Germany).
