Hyundai Motor and Kia set a quarterly sales record in India in the first quarter of 2026, selling a combined 250,903 vehicles. This is the first time their joint quarterly sales exceeded 250,000 units.
Hyundai sales rose 8.5% to 166,578 units, while Kia sales increased 11.6% to 84,300 units. Growth was driven by a strategy focused on recreational vehicles (RVs), including SUVs and campers. Cumulative RV sales since launch surpassed 4 million units. The Hyundai Creta leads with 1.405 million units.
According to one source, quarterly RV sales reached 403,400 units, of which 254,800 were SUVs and 148,600 other RVs. The company also plans to expand production capacity in India to 150,000 units per year.
