German company builds unconventional off-road motorhome for two

Volkswagen is offering the California Beach Camper for lease at 399 euros per month with no down payment. The deal includes a parking heater, all-season tires, and a maintenance package. The camper sleeps four and features a pull-out rear kitchen. The lease term is 24 months with an annual mileage of 10,000 km. Total cost over two years is 11,425 euros, including a preparation fee of 1,849 euros. Delivery takes about six months.

Volkswagen will present the world premiere of an air-inflatable kitchen and a flexible bed system developed exclusively for the new California Beach at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, opening on August 28. The modules, created in cooperation with Staff Bubble, can be installed or removed in minutes without tools.
