The modernised Falkensteiner Camping Wörthersee campsite on the shore of Lake Wörthersee in Klagenfurt has officially opened. The operator is Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group (FMTG), with the project realised together with Stadtwerke Klagenfurt AG. According to one source, the opening took place on 30 July; according to another, on 18 July.
The site covers around 4 hectares. Buildings have been renovated, a terrace accessible to all visitors has been added, camping spaces (300 in total) have been increased, and sanitary facilities have been modernised. Pitches are equipped with electricity and water, and there is a children's playground and a covered play area. The gastronomy is now open to all visitors, not just campsite guests.
€2.9 million has already been invested in the modernisation. Further investment in infrastructure, including new water and electricity connections, is planned in the coming years. Construction of a €30 million project at Lake Hafnersee, including new campsites and mobile homes, is set to begin in the coming months.
