Power tool batteries move the caravan faster: new Alko Mammut Galaxy drive

Several motorhomes caught fire late Friday night at a car dealership site on Nordring in Berlin-Marzahn. The fire started around 22:00, and multiple gas cylinder explosions were suspected during firefighting. Berlin fire services deployed significant resources, operations continued late into the night, and a police helicopter was seen over the scene. A smaller fire had occurred earlier that evening on nearby Wolfener Straße; no link between the two incidents has been established, and the cause of the Nordring fire remains undetermined.

Tabbert has introduced the Puccini Finest Edition series for the 2027 model year. The flagship 750 HDT measures 9.48 m in total length, 8.33 m in body length and 2.5 m in width. It sleeps up to four people and features a full kitchen, a full-width bathroom with shower, three wardrobes and a multimedia package with a 32-inch TV. Prices start at €60,790; the unit shown in Dusseldorf is priced at €68,858.

Gudrun and Bernd Kolb from Nördlingen live in their motorhome almost year-round, spending only three weeks annually in their apartment. Their living space measures 8.5 square metres. Bernd Kolb said that if an evening in town runs late and the motorhome is too far away, he sleeps one night in the apartment, but otherwise prefers the motorhome.

At the Caravan Salon, Reich presented a technical study called Easy Wheel active AI that automatically moves a caravan to the tow vehicle's hitch. The system uses a motorised jockey wheel and an AI camera trained to recognise the car's number plate. It operates at distances up to 15 metres and angles up to 30 degrees, and includes obstacle detection. No production date or price has been announced.

The Eriba Touring 530 Silver Edition was presented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf for the 2027 model year. The caravan measures 5.99 m long, 2.10 m wide and has a maximum weight of around 1,300 kg, with a price ranging from €31,500 to €33,500 depending on options. Its pop-up roof reduces travel height to 2.26 m and provides up to 1.95 m of interior height when raised. Inside, there are three berths, a full bathroom with shower and toilet, a kitchen with a two-burner gas hob, fridge and the Eriba Connect system.

At the recent IFA in Berlin, Jackery presented three modular power stations: Explorer 1000 Plus v2, Explorer 2000 Plus v2, and Explorer 3600 Plus. The new generation is smaller and lighter than previous models: the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 is 44% smaller and weighs about 10.8 kg, the Explorer 2000 Plus v2 is 60% smaller and weighs 18.8 kg, and the Explorer 3600 Plus weighs 35 kg and has wheels and a telescopic handle. All use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells that retain 70% capacity after 6,000 cycles and support expansion with additional batteries. Sales start in mid-October, with pre-orders available on the manufacturer's online store.
