Laika Kreos switches to Mercedes-Benz chassis

Laika is renewing its Kreos range, switching exclusively to Mercedes-Benz chassis from the 2026/27 season. The first model is the Kreos Integrale H 5109 MB, based on the Sprinter 417 with 170 hp, 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and AL-KO chassis. It will premiere at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf in 2026. Three new exterior color designs inspired by sports cars are also introduced.

New Adria Alpina 2027: Luxury Caravan in a New Look

Slovenian manufacturer Adria has unveiled the Alpina 2027, featuring a comprehensive redesign of its exterior, interior, and technical specifications. The flagship caravan is available with a new AL-KO chassis with a gross weight of up to 2300 kg, and models 663 HT, 663 PT, and 903 HT offer an optional Signature Lounge module with adjustable backrests and convertible sleeping space. The kitchen includes a combined hob with two gas burners and one induction zone, while the bathroom features an ALDE heating system. Laika Kreos H5109 MB: new flagship integral opens 100% Mercedes range

Italian manufacturer Laika has unveiled the Kreos H 5109 MB, an integral motorhome that inaugurates the new Kreos line, now exclusively based on Mercedes chassis. The model features a renewed exterior design inspired by sports cars and a high level of standard equipment. The Kreos H 5109 MB is built on the Mercedes Sprinter 417 with a 170 hp engine, 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, and Al-Ko chassis. Standard features include Thermotronic climate control, MBUX multimedia system with rear-view camera, leather steering wheel, and swiveling Grand Comfort seats. The living area includes a double bed (195 x 140 cm), twin beds (195 x 80 cm), a separate shower compartment, and the LaikaControl monitoring system. Price: €173,290.

Test drive of Carthago chic c-line I 4.9 LE in Valtellina

PleinAir magazine tested the Carthago chic c-line I 4.9 LE motorhome on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with AL-KO frame, driving from Lake Como to Valtellina. The vehicle, just over 7.5 m long and under 230 cm wide, handled curves and climbs well but due to its size (requires C1 license) cannot access all narrow roads. Highlights include a heated double floor, a rear garage with 350 kg capacity, and a bicycle mounting system.

ONDA Retrofitting configurator: make a motorhome smart without rewiring

AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics has launched the ONDA Retrofitting Product Finder, an online configurator for motorhomes equipped with AL-KO VTE, CBE or Nordelettronica electrical systems. The tool identifies a retrofit kit that adds remote battery and tank monitoring, GPS tracking, lighting and temperature control without replacing the existing wiring. The system is modular: users can start with basic functions and add modules later. The configurator is now live on the official website.

Knaus Nordwind 660 PXB — new luxury caravan

Knaus has launched the new Nordwind series, positioned above the well-known Südwind. The first model, Nordwind 660 PXB, is built on a twin-axle AL-KO chassis with a gross weight of 2500 kg. It features Alde Compact 3020 water heating, an L-shaped kitchen with an induction hob, and a 153-liter compressor fridge. Base price in Germany starts at around €49,000.

Bürstner Signature SFT rethinks motorhome layout

Bürstner has launched the Signature series, a new model line that aims to redefine the design of seven-meter motorhomes. The SFT 7.5 model is based on a Fiat Ducato chassis with an AL-KO low-frame platform and features a 2.2-liter 140 hp turbodiesel engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Interior solutions borrow from more expensive models by Niesmann+Bischoff, part of the same Erwin Hymer Group.

Bürstner Signature TI 2027 on Mercedes Sprinter: features and prices

Bürstner has introduced the Signature partially integrated motorhome on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. The model is available in two floor plans: SMT 7.0 with twin beds and SMT 7.4 with a queen bed in the rear. Prices start at €94,000, about €14,000 more than the Fiat Ducato version. The motorhome is 20 cm longer (7.35 m) but 4 cm lower thanks to the Alko low-frame chassis, offering improved comfort and stability. Standard equipment includes a 150 Ah lithium battery, 200 L fresh water and 180 L waste water tanks, with optional 120 L cassette toilet and 50 L gas tank. Interior features include a swiveling seating group, sliding sink for shower, kitchen with 140 L drawer fridge and induction hob.

Bürstner to launch Signature profile models on Mercedes chassis

Bürstner has announced the upcoming release of its Signature series motorhomes on the Mercedes Sprinter platform. Previously, the model was only available on the Fiat Ducato AL-KO. The manufacturer released a teaser video on Facebook showing a partially concealed vehicle. The new models are expected to debut at the Düsseldorf trade fair from August 28 to September 6. Two versions are anticipated: one with a central bed and one with twin beds. The price is likely to exceed €100,000.

Overview of popular caravan maneuvering systems

Promobil magazine published a market overview of maneuvering systems (Movers) for caravans. These devices allow moving a trailer without a tow vehicle using a remote control. The comparison includes models from Alko, Obelink, Easydriver, Enduro, Carbest, P1, Fritz Berger, Robot-Trolley, and Truma. Prices range from €689 (Obelink Prestige) to €3,685 (P1 Model S). Most systems use a remote control; only Easydriver and Reich offer app control. The Robot-Trolley attaches to the drawbar instead of wheels but has limited climbing ability (10% gradient).

AL-KO offers digital upgrade for old motorhomes with ONDA Connectivity

AL-KO VTE has launched a retrofitting kit that allows connecting and controlling key motorhome functions via smartphone without altering existing wiring. The system installs in about two hours and is compatible with LIN-BUS, CI-BUS, and CAN-BUS protocols, enabling communication with most installed heating, air conditioning, and refrigerator systems. Three kits are available: two for CBE systems and one for Nordelettronica. Installation is carried out at AL-KO service centers and certified dealers across Europe.

Automatic caravan levelling systems: 5 systems compared

Promobil magazine compared five automatic caravan levelling systems that replace manual cranking. The systems differ in operation: electric (Alko UP4, Enduro Autosteady, Knott KLS), hydraulic (E&P Level C), and combined (HPC.C3). Prices range from €1,150 to €5,299, with setup times from 60 to 90 seconds. Most systems require an onboard battery and can be controlled via remote or smartphone.
