Chinese automaker BYD is broadening its presence in the recreational vehicle segment with several new offerings.
All-electric BYD T5 motorhome (2027 model)
BYD announced an all-electric T5 motorhome for the 2027 model year. The vehicle is fully electric and designed for autonomous travel. Specific features and pricing have not yet been revealed.
Hybrid Juxin BYD Wuyou 3.0
Juxin introduced a Class C hybrid motorhome built on a BYD chassis with rear-wheel drive. The starting price is 369,000 yuan. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter BYD hybrid engine, a 55.39 kWh Blade battery, and a 100-liter fuel tank. Claimed fuel consumption in hybrid mode is 6–8 L/100 km, with an electric-only range of about 200 km. The vehicle seats six and sleeps 3–4, includes a 300-liter fresh water tank, a 12 kWh auxiliary battery, and 1170 W solar panels. Overall length is 5995 mm.
Converted BYD Xia minivan for camping
BYD also showcased a camping conversion of its Xia minivan. The model features a hybrid powertrain for low fuel consumption and a spacious interior suitable for sleeping and gear storage. Price and release date have not been announced.
Hybrid motorhome on BYD T5 DM chassis
At a Shanghai exhibition, a motorhome based on the BYD T5 DM hybrid chassis was presented. It boasts a 1000 km range, a side extension for increased aisle space, a pop-up roof, and a second-level platform. Equipment includes a 280-liter water tank, a 10 kWh battery, and solar panels.
