Around noon on 6 September 2026, a caravan caught fire on Hauptstraße in Uelzen. Shortly after the fire was discovered, a gas cylinder was removed from the caravan and the towing vehicle was uncoupled. By the time emergency services arrived, the caravan was fully engulfed in flames. Police preliminary investigations suggest a technical defect as the cause; further inquiries are ongoing.
