Since January 2026, five motorhomes worth around €200,000 have been stolen in western Munich. One of them, a Citroën Pössl valued at €50,000, was found in Poland; the 17-year-old unlicensed driver was arrested after a chase.
A series of motorhome thefts in Munich, believed to be carried out on order, has drawn police attention. Since January 2026, five vehicles worth a total of approximately €200,000 have been stolen in the western part of the city.
One of the stolen motorhomes — a Citroën Pössl valued at around €50,000 — was discovered in Poland, 420 km from the crime scene. The vehicle, stolen on the night of February 19 in the Moosach district, had fake license plates. Polish police stopped it using a spike strip in the town of Lubawka after the driver ignored border control between the Czech Republic and Poland.
Behind the wheel was a 17-year-old Polish citizen without a driver's license. After stopping, he tried to flee on foot but was apprehended. The suspect faces up to five years in prison. The motorhome has been seized and will be returned to its owner.
