Magazines promobil and CARAVANING are holding their annual reader vote for Motorhome of the Year 2027 and Caravan of the Year 2026. More than 274 motorhome series and over 60 caravan series are competing. Readers can cast up to three votes per category until 12 November 2026. The prize pool includes 12 prizes worth over 20,000 euros in total, including a Pössl Summit Shine 540 ON motorhome valued at 54,990 euros.

German dealer Caravan-Wendt will hold its autumn trade fair on 10–11 October at its sites in Kremmin and Bandenitz. The company, which describes itself as the largest caravan dealer in northern and eastern Germany, expects more than 7,000 visitors across an area of over 40,000 sq m. More than 1,000 vehicles from around 20 manufacturers, including Hymer, Fendt, Hobby and Dethleffs, will be on display, along with a camper van exhibition featuring Pössl, Globecar, Roadcar and Sunlight. Discounts and special conditions in the accessories shop, valid only on site, and an entertainment programme are announced.

At this year's Caravan Salon, Pössl presented the new Roadstar XL Evo campervan, built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The model measures 697 cm long, 202 cm wide and 285 cm high, and comes with four-wheel drive and 190 hp as standard. It has three seatbelts, an electric lifting bed, a 155-litre water tank and a 100-litre fridge. The vehicle has a gross weight of 4100 kg. Norwegian dealer Sola bobil has already ordered several units, but availability in Norway is not expected until next summer; the estimated price is from 1.6 million Norwegian kroner.

A review of new 2027 model year motorhomes and campervans has identified five key trends. These include the three-storey Westfalia Columbus Liner with an optional roof terrace, central-bed campervans from Rapido and Campérêve, the La Strada Avanti R with a rear lounge and electric bed, and the Bürstner Habiton 6.1 with a full-length body extension. Other trends noted are coloured and special editions (Laika, Hymer, Eura Mobil), off-road versions (Carado, Sunlight, Pössl), redesigned interiors (Mobilvetta, Autostar) and new compact models (McLouis, Chausson, Dethleffs, Roller Team).

Pössl Group has announced updates to its camper van range for the 2027 season. The seven-metre Roadstar XL Evo, based on an all-wheel-drive Mercedes Sprinter, features an electrically adjustable lifting bed and a 100-litre compressor fridge; pricing was not announced. The Summit Prime 640 receives a revised interior, and an electric pop-top roof is available for an additional 999 euros. The new Shine 640 R Evo, based on the Citroën Jumper, measures 6.40 metres and offers two separate longitudinal beds; the special edition Shine 540 ON starts at 54,999 euros. Clever Vans has updated the interior of its Select Line, including the Runner 636, priced at around 59,999 euros.

Pössl has unveiled the fully electric E-Vanster camper based on the Citroën ë-SpaceTourer. The model features a 75 kWh battery providing a range of 250 to 298 km (WLTP) and a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor. Its height of 1.99 m allows access to underground parking. Prices in Switzerland start at 60,000 francs, exceeding 72,000 francs with full equipment, about 15% more than diesel equivalents.

Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf features over 830 exhibitors across nearly 250,000 square meters. For the first time, dedicated halls for roof tents (Hall 7a) and off-road vehicles (Halls 16 and 17) have been introduced. New models from Dethleffs, Bürstner, Pössl, Carthago, and debutant PerfectVan are on display. The fair runs from August 28 to September 6, with tickets starting at €18.

Vansports has introduced an off-road package for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4x4, featuring a certified steel bumper, fender flares, and all-terrain tires. Compatible with the 907 series.

At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, 10 new camper models are presented with prices from €48,900 to over €100,000. Highlights include Adria Twin, Carado CV595 X-Edition and Challenger Sport Edition S114.

Clever Vans, a subsidiary of Pössl, has introduced the six-meter camper van Drive 600 and the Kids version with bunk beds in the rear. The base price for the Drive 600 is €50,999, while the Kids version starts at €51,599 (prices as of August 2026). Standard equipment includes a diesel heater (Truma Combi 4 D), fly screen on the sliding door, electric step, and a 95 Ah AGM battery. An optional pop-up roof for €5,999 increases the sleeping capacity to four to six.

On Saturday, August 15, between 6:30 and 6:40 p.m., a bather at the Baggersee in Teningen-Nimburg had his keys stolen while swimming, after which his motorhome disappeared from the parking lot. Police estimate the damage at around 48,000 euros. The vehicle, a brown-bronze Citroën Pössl Campster 002 with a pop-up roof and Freiburg license plates, is being sought. The Emmendingen police are asking witnesses to call 07641 582-0.

Caravan Salon 2026, the world's largest caravanning trade fair, will take place in Düsseldorf starting August 28. More than 750 exhibitors will showcase new motorhomes, caravans, and accessories. A Preview Day is scheduled for August 28 with limited tickets. The exhibition is spread across halls: Hall 1 features Knaus Tabbert, Hall 4 has Carthago and Westfalia, Hall 6 hosts Erwin Hymer Group, Hall 10 includes Adria, Hall 12 has Pössl and Globecar, and Hall 16 is dedicated to luxury and expedition vehicles. Hall 9 remains closed for renovation.

Pössl has unveiled the Roadcamp R, a camper van based on the Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer or Fiat Ducato. The vehicle is 5.40 m long and 2.58 m high. It features a transverse double bed (196×132 cm) and a full wet bath with sink and toilet. The starting price is €52,999 (as of July 2026).

A woman traveled 6,000 km through Norway in a 17-year-old Pössl Duett L camper over three weeks. The route included underwater tunnels, ferries, and scenic roads like the Atlanterhavsveien. She noted the country's safety, affordable supermarkets Rema1000 and Kiwi, and the usefulness of apps Park4Night and Stellplatz-Radar for finding parking spots. She emphasized that solo camper trips in Norway are safe and not lonely due to interactions with other travelers.

Pössl has introduced the Vario 545, a short campervan measuring 5.41 m in length with a GRP high roof. The price starts at €61,999 (as of July 2026), about €2,000 less than the 2025 model. Standard layout sleeps two, optional up to five. It is based on Citroën Jumper, Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer chassis with a 2.2-litre turbodiesel (140 hp) and 6-speed manual gearbox.

Pössl subsidiary Roadcar has launched the R640, a 6.36-metre camper van based on the Stellantis platform (Citroën Jumper, Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer) with a base price of €49,999. Standard features include two single beds in the rear, a half-dinette in the front, a side kitchen with a two-burner gas hob and a 90-litre fridge, and a compact bathroom. Maximum capacity is five people with an optional pop-up roof at €5,999. Technical equipment is basic: Truma Combi 4 gas heater, 95 Ah AGM battery, with solar preparation and rear-view camera preparation as options.
