Turin police have begun removing illegally parked campers and caravans from Ruffini Park. In the first operation, one motorhome and one caravan were confiscated for violating traffic rules and local regulations. More than ten vehicles remain on site.
In the Palavela area, two motorhomes were towed; the remaining vehicles were deemed compliant, but their owners were asked to leave the zone. According to a local official, the checks focus primarily on compliance with the highway code.
The operation has sparked political debate, as a Democratic Party celebration is scheduled in the park in September, and the opposition expressed hope that the measures are not solely related to this event.
