From 2 to 4 October, 97 motorhomes gathered at the Champ-de-Mars in Pont-Saint-Esprit, France, at the invitation of the local club and organised by the CCCRA (Club de camping-car Rhône-Alpes). The event included the association's general assembly; founded in 1980, it has over 250 members across Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Occitanie. Participants visited the sacred art museum, the Saturday market and took a 6 km hike along the Rhône; the association organises around thirty outings per year lasting from two to twenty days.

On the night of 6–7 October 2026, a Mediterranean storm swept through Hérault and Gard, and a mini-tornado struck the commune of Grau-du-Roi in the morning. According to Midi Libre, the tornado overturned about ten boats, uprooted a hundred pine trees and damaged several cars; Gard remained on orange alert. France 3 Régions reported that two motorhomes were evacuated in Fraisse-sur-Agout, five campers were assisted in the Monts d'Orb forest, and eleven people and five dogs were rescued; the Orb river peaked at 3.30 metres, Hérault saw 344 interventions and 1,200 emergency calls, and 33 roads remained closed in Gard. The article examines insurance claims: motorhomes, caravans and campervans fall under different policies, and storm coverage depends on proving wind intensity through Météo-France certificates, press reports and witness statements.
