The impact hit a new camper valued at NT$1.7 million, which was severely damaged. The shop's glass and pillars were also affected. Total damage is estimated at NT$2 million. The shop owner said accidents are frequent on Road 186 and linked the incident to the road's straight, wide design that encourages speeding. He called for speed limit signs and speed cameras. This is the second similar incident in two years; previously, a truck crashed into the same location.
