On Saturday evening on the A9 motorway in Thuringia, Germany, a motorhome driver carrying two children failed to notice a traffic jam and collided with several vehicles. Police reported 34 injured, including several children, all with minor to moderate injuries and no life-threatening conditions. Nine vehicles were damaged, including two minibuses transporting 11 children with high support needs and eight caregivers. The jam was caused by an earlier accident involving a toppled horse trailer. Damage is estimated at €350,000, and the highway was closed for about 5.5 hours.
