Accident on the A9 motorway
On the A9 motorway in Thuringia, a camper crashed into a queue of vehicles that had formed due to a traffic jam. According to police, 34 people were injured, including children. All injuries are light to moderate.
Nine vehicles were damaged, including two minibuses carrying 11 children with special needs. Damage is estimated at 350,000 euros. The road was closed for 5.5 hours.
According to one account, the camper drove into an emergency corridor after a previous accident. Other reports say the driver failed to notice the traffic jam. There is no official confirmation.
