Fire in Zakopane
On Thursday, September 24, after 13:00, a camper trailer caught fire on Oswalda Balzera Street in Zakopane, next to a non-operating hotel. Five units of the State and Volunteer Fire Service, over 20 firefighters in total, took part in extinguishing the fire.
After the fire was put out, a charred body of one person was found at the scene. The identity of the deceased and the cause of the fire have not been established. The area was not used as a campsite, and the materials were handed over to the police and prosecutor's office.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by police under the supervision of the prosecutor's office. Identification of the deceased and a fire-technical examination have been ordered.
