A travel trailer is the North American term for a towable RV that attaches to a car or pickup via a rear hitch rather than a fifth-wheel coupling in the truck bed.
It is broadly similar to a European touring caravan, but often larger and designed around RV park infrastructure such as 30/50 amp electricity, water hookup and sewer hookup. Do not confuse it with a fifth wheel.
