A 72-year-old man was found dead after an RV fire in southeast Houston on Wednesday evening. The fire broke out around 9:40 p.m. on Howard Drive, near Galveston Road. An officer patrolling the area spotted the flames and approached, where a witness reported an explosion and fire. According to another source, the officer saw smoke and tried to rescue the man, but the fire quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found the body. The cause of death and the fire are under investigation. According to relatives, the victim lived in the RV and had felt fine earlier that day. His identity has not been released pending notification of family. Police ask anyone with information to call the homicide division at 713-308-3600.
