On Friday, August 21, a storm hit the Venetian and Friulian coast, causing damage and injuries. At the Villaggio San Francesco campsite in Caorle, a large branch fell on a tent, injuring a foreign tourist who was airlifted to a hospital in Mestre. In two campsites in Grado, falling trees damaged motorhomes, caravans and tents, injuring a child. Firefighters in the province of Gorizia responded to about 40 incidents, and damage was also reported in Lignano Sabbiadoro.
