On July 10, a wildfire broke out in La Plaine-sur-Mer (Loire-Atlantique), burning 83 hectares and damaging part of the Mirabel La Renaudière campsite. Nearly 200 firefighters and 73 vehicles were deployed; one firefighter was slightly injured. Residents, holidaymakers, and a riding centre with 50 horses were evacuated. Witnesses reported the fire spread rapidly due to wind and heat. The town hall opened a community hall for evacuees, and the Red Cross provided support. An investigation into the cause has been launched.
