On Friday morning, a Volkswagen Golf and a camper collided at the intersection of Kolkensloane and Trekweg (N910) in Driezum. The Golf was occupied by several teenagers who were on a school break and had gone for a drive. They failed to notice the camper approaching on Trekweg from Westergeast. After the impact, the Golf came to a stop against the bridge railing, sustaining heavy damage; the camper was also damaged. The camper's driver and passenger were scheduled to go on vacation next week. Police handled the incident, and recovery service Boersma towed the vehicles. No injuries were reported.
