Early on Sunday, April 5, 2026, three fires occurred in succession along Kifisou Avenue in Athens. The first two involved rubbish containers in Nea Filadelfeia and Peristeri. The third and most severe fire broke out around 03:30 in the Moschato area (also referred to as Moschaton or Moschato) on a private plot or vacant lot, completely destroying a commercial van and a motorhome.
Firefighters deployed 18 personnel and 6 vehicles to bring the blaze under control. All three incidents happened between 02:30 and 03:30, leading authorities to suspect they may be linked and to investigate possible arson. The investigation is ongoing.
