Traveling to Greece by motorhome via the Balkans can be a cost-effective alternative to ferries. Key routes pass through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and North Macedonia or along the Adriatic coast. In 2025, Greece introduced stricter regulations, prohibiting the parking of motorhomes and caravans in public areas, including archaeological sites and beaches, with potential fines up to 300 euros.
Greece has enacted laws 5170/2025 and 5209/2025, strictly regulating the parking of motorhomes and caravans in public spaces. Motorhomes up to 7.5 meters in length can park within settlements without time limits, while longer vehicles and caravans are limited to 24 hours.
