A family from Redditch is demanding "full justice" after their campervan, which broke down in France on August 20, 2025, was returned by the RAC 14 months later in an "absolutely destroyed" condition. The RAC repatriated the family to the UK but left the vehicle in its care; in December 2025 it promised a repair in the first week of January 2026, which did not happen. After communication ceased on April 23, 2026, the RAC agreed on October 9 to pay for French repairs and full repatriation. Owner Matt Collins said the engine was stripped and boxed inside the cabin, seats unbolted, and the body had new structural rust and roof damage; the RAC apologised for the delay and blamed an independent garage and its French partners.
