On the morning of August 19, border police officers from Waidhaus stopped a motorhome with Schwabach license plates on the A6, heading towards the Czech Republic. It turned out the vehicle had been stolen that same day at around 1:45 a.m. from the owner's home. The motorhome was stopped about an hour and a half after the theft, and the owner learned of the loss only from the police.
The driver, a Polish citizen, was arrested. He faces charges of vehicle theft, driving without a license, and violating weapons law. A prohibited knife was also seized from him. A court issued an arrest warrant. The motorhome is valued at 35,000 euros. According to one source, the suspect intended to deliver the motorhome to Eastern Europe.
