Dutch police warn that motorhome owners parking on busy tourist beaches are easy targets for professional thieves. According to BOVAG and KCI, as of December 1, 2025, the Netherlands had a record 634,660 registered motorhomes and caravans, increasing the number of potential targets. In North Holland, dozens of thefts have been recorded, especially among tourists from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Stolen motorhomes are often stripped for parts in hidden sheds, as shown by police raids in 2022–2023.
