Torgau (July 20, 2026)
Around 4:50 a.m., a motorhome caught fire in a parking lot in Torgau. The flames spread to a nearby Volkswagen Polo; both vehicles were completely destroyed. Six other cars were damaged by fire and heat. No injuries were reported. Police are investigating the cause and may call in a fire expert. The total damage is still being assessed.
Gröbenzell (June 29, 2026)
A self-converted motorhome parked on Alpenstraße caught fire. Residents contained the flames before firefighters arrived, who then fully extinguished the interior and removed the batteries. Preliminary findings point to a technical defect. Damage is estimated at several tens of thousands of euros. No injuries occurred, and the fire did not spread to neighboring buildings.
Ostfildern (June 24, 2026)
Three caravans in an industrial area burned down completely. Police suspect arson; the suspect is also believed to have set fire to a nearby wooden hut. A helicopter search yielded no results. Two additional parked cars were damaged. Total damage exceeds 100,000 euros.
