On Saturday afternoon, a collision involving five vehicles, including a campervan, occurred on the southern motorway A2 near Grafenstein in Carinthia. According to one source, five people were injured, one seriously; according to another, seven were injured, two seriously, with the rest sustaining moderate or minor injuries.
The accident was reportedly caused by a German campervan driver who failed to notice a traffic jam and rear-ended the vehicle ahead. Around 80 rescue workers were deployed. The motorway was closed during rescue and cleanup operations, causing traffic jams. The injured were taken to hospitals.
