Shanghai autotourism festival
On October 5–6, a music festival took place in Taopu Central Park in Shanghai's Putuo District with almost 100 motorhomes arranged as a campsite and about 50 commercial stalls. Over two days, the event was visited by nearly 20,000 people. It was organised by Taopu Smart City together with Shanghai People's Radio.
In addition to the concert program, there were recreation areas near the motorhomes, a food market and stands from cities along the Shanghai–Nanjing railway. The festival featured two themed days with performances by Lao Lang, Pin Guan, Xu Ruyun, Ma Di, Yu Yan and Chen Leji. Electronic tickets under the "ticket — Putuo discount" campaign provided discounts in shopping malls and at local businesses.
The festival also included venues in Changzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi, ensuring cross-regional visitor exchange. The event was the second edition; compared with the first in 2025, the number of motorhomes increased from 30 to almost 100, and 50 trading places were added to the fair.
According to Gao Weichao, deputy secretary of the Taopu township party committee, the site draws on the district's resources: TOP Park is the largest park in the central part of the city, and the total green area of the related Xingyang, Qidonglin and Chunguang parks is 67 hectares. The Taopu authorities are cooperating with the Shanghai Road Transport Association on motorhomes and car travel to modernise motorhome sites in Xingyang Park and plan to attract a Danish manufacturer of motorhomes and tents that has existed for almost 70 years and holds a high share of the European market.
According to one source, about 10,000 people attended the event, while other sources report nearly 20,000 visitors. The motorhomes were placed on the central city lawn, which differs from the traditional placement of campsites outside the city.
