Chubut to host 18th South American motorhome association congress

Expo RodanteAR, an exhibition dedicated to motorhomes, caravans and itinerant tourism, will take place on October 24 and 25 in the Tigre district. The event is organised by Marcelo Pistorio, creator of AutocampingTV and director of Expo RodanteAR, who has travelled in motorhomes for over 25 years and works to develop this form of tourism in Argentina. The exhibition aims to bring together vehicle manufacturers and service providers for motorhome travellers.

Camping El Bosquecito, operated by the National University of Cuyo in Potrerillos, Luján de Cuyo, has published 2026 rates: students, retirees and children aged 6–12 pay 7,000 Argentine pesos per person per day; UNCuyo community adults pay 10,000 pesos; the general public pays the standard rate. The fee is charged per person per day with no extra charge for overnight stays; entry is from 8:00, departure by 10:00 the next day, and staying past noon incurs another day's fee. The campsite does not take reservations and admits visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Motorhomes and caravans are charged as an additional person. Facilities include tent pitches, barbecue grills, hot showers, electricity, two swimming pools and a shop (summer only).

The average daily rental rate for a motorhome in Argentina ranges from USD 100 to USD 120, plus fuel, insurance, and a security deposit. A basic used motorhome costs between USD 30,000 and USD 40,000, while a fully equipped unit ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000. Under National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) rules, van-type motorhomes have a maximum speed limit of 110 km/h on highways. Industry representatives are in talks with Transport and Tourism authorities to update legislation, as some large models are temporarily classified as commercial cargo vehicles despite being for private use.

Kandy García, a 91-year-old retiree from Argentina, continues to backpack around the world, refusing to stop traveling. She organizes trips for older women and declines advertising offers, relying on her pension. The WhatsApp group Mujeres Rodanteras Argentinas brings together 25,000 female motorhome enthusiasts. Alan and Liz, a couple from Rosario, after 40 years in the vehicle manufacturing business, handed it over to their son and set off to travel the US in one of their own motorhomes.

The third edition of 4x4 Off Road Fest will take place on 26 September at the Cañuelas exhibition grounds in Buenos Aires from 10:00 to 18:00, with free entry and parking. After two years in Luján, the event has moved to a larger site; more than 100 prepared pickups, campers, motorhomes and mini off-road trailers will be on display, alongside over 60 equipment stands. Demonstrations, Ranger and Land Rover club areas, food trucks and pet-friendly access with short leashes are planned. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to the following Saturday.

Theatrical producer Flavio Mendoza uses a motorhome during Circo del Ánima seasons. The RV was bought in the US and features a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and appliances.
