First camping and caravan festival in Afyonkarahisar
The first Afyonkarahisar Camping and Caravan Festival, organized by the Afyonkarahisar Camping and Caravan Association and the Frigya Local Action Group, took place at Emre Lake in İhsaniye district. The free event attracted around 1,000 participants from all over Turkey.
Program highlights
- Competitions: tug-of-war, sack race, egg-and-spoon race.
- DJ performances and evening campfire gatherings.
- Tastings of local specialties: Afyon sausage, keşkek, cherry bread, and cherry bread kadayıf.
- Presentations of new caravan models.
Deputy Governor Yalçın Sezgin highlighted the festival's contribution to regional tourism and announced a future TÜBİTAK astronomy event at the same venue. Association head Kaan Uçar thanked sponsors and local authorities. The festival will conclude on Sunday with a tour of the Phrygia valley.
