The Ryokusuiko campsite in Nanbu and the Ikkogaru campsite in Kotoura, both operated by Smile Cube, have been closed since May 7 after the company entered bankruptcy proceedings. The closure stems from losses in the company's core wedding business and declining campsite visitors. Local officials said they were caught off guard and are now seeking a new operator to resume operations.
