Closure of FKK zone in Hooksiel
The FKK (nudist) area at the campsite in Hooksiel, Lower Saxony, will close for the 2027 season after about 75 years of operation. Operator Überland GmbH (also referred to as Überland Services GmbH) cites low demand: out of 412 pitches, only 125 are occupied by seasonal campers, and short-term bookings are rare.
The freed-up area is to be converted into modern seasonal pitches by the 2027 season, possibly with a summer lounge zone and mandatory clothing. The operator rejected a proposal to reduce the FKK area, calling it unfeasible.
The Naturistenverband Wilhelmshaven-Friesland (or Naturistenbund Wilhelmshaven Friesland) association has launched a petition against the closure. Reports vary between 1,300 and 1,400 signatures collected; 2,000 are needed. The nearby nudist beach will remain open.
