In Brief

Toyota Thailand held an Open Day at its Ban Pho plant, demonstrating assembly of Hilux, Fortuner, Land Cruiser FJ and electric Hilux Travo-e. Meanwhile, Japanese tuner Direct Cars unveiled the BR75 SUV Adventure Camper based on the outgoing Hilux GR Sport.

Production in Thailand

Toyota Thailand held its third Open Day at the Ban Pho plant (Chachoengsao province). The facility operates under the Toyota Production System with digital kanban and ranks among Toyota's top five most sustainable plants worldwide. Multi-flow lines simultaneously assemble ICE vehicles (Hilux, Fortuner, Land Cruiser FJ) and the electric Hilux Travo-e pickup. The site also features the Chiwafanawet Biocenter and a large solar farm.

Camper on Hilux base

Japanese company Direct Cars created the BR75 SUV Adventure Camper based on the previous-generation Toyota Hilux GR Sport pickup. The vehicle features off-road preparation, and the living module includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and a living area that transforms into a double bed. Power is supplied by a 200 Ah battery and a 200 W solar panel. Sales of such vehicles in Japan will end with the discontinuation of the previous Hilux generation by the end of 2026.
