A 1951 Lighthouse Duplex two-storey travel trailer has been restored in the US. The model, produced by Chicago-based Lighthouse Trailers Co., was the first trailer with two full storeys. Of about eight surviving examples, two were restored by Texas specialist Ethan Langley, who spent seven years on his personal project. The 8.5-metre trailer weighs about 3,084 kg and can accommodate four to six people; it features modern heating and air conditioning, 50-amp electrical hookup and a hidden staircase to the second floor. The price has not been disclosed, and the owner does not plan to sell it.
