Motorhomes in Danger: Major Fire Department Operation in Irsingen

A fire alarm in Irsingen on Wednesday evening triggered a large-scale response from multiple fire departments. Smoke was detected from a barn on the southern edge of Irsingen, where motorhomes were stored. Firefighters from Irsingen, Türkheim, and Bad Wörishofen used breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras to quickly bring the situation under control. The cause is suspected to be a technical defect; damage assessment is ongoing.

No more long-term campers at Waidring campsite

The new operator of the 'Camping Steinplatte' site in Waidring, Tentoria GmbH, is terminating contracts with seasonal campers and shifting focus to short-term tourist stays. Annual agreements expire on September 30, 2026; campers may extend for one final season (€4,900 plus extras) but must vacate by end of October 2027. The local tourism board (TVB) called the move 'understandable' and said the planned upgrades align with current market demand.
