Rob, a blogger from Further Fabrication, has built a DIY pop-top camper for a pickup truck, spending about $1,500. The goal was to save money on expensive commercial campers that are not available in his country.
The construction uses a plywood and aluminum beam sandwich, 600-denier PVC-polyester fabric, and electromagnetic locks. When folded, the camper looks like a standard truck bed; when raised, it provides full standing height inside.
